Strategizing and targeting large corporations for business opportunities

Emmett T. Vaughn joined Exelon as the Diverse Business Enablement Leader in June 2005. Under his direction Exelon has become a best practice standard bearer in the Electric Utility Industry, having added over $350 Million of new business with MWBE suppliers in less than 3 years. Additionally the company has received 4 Regional Corporation of the Year Awards from the US Department of Commerce - Minority Business Development Agency, the Minority Supplier Development Council of PA, NJ & DE, and The Chicago Minority Business Development Council respectively.

Prior to joining Exelon, he managed his own consulting practice focusing on diversity and business development strategies for Fortune 500 Corporations, small businesses, public sector agencies and not-for-profit organizations.

His passion for business diversity was cultivated while working as a senior consultant for RGMA Management Consulting, based in Chicago. He led client engagements in retail and consumer products industries as well public sector economic development projects. As an entrepreneur, he developed a substantive portfolio of clients in Chicago, Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California. In 2000 he served a one-year loaned executive assignment while employed at RR Donnelley Corporation, serving Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition as Chief Operating Officer (on loan). His role was assisting Reverend Jackson and the RPC staff on local and national corporate/community outreach and minority business development projects.

Additionally, he has developed supplier/business diversity initiatives both as an employee and consultant for Albertsons, Inc. then the parent company for Chicago based Jewel Supermarkets.

Mr. Vaughn holds an MBA degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BA in communication/marketing from Northeast Missouri State University.
